Adoption & Foster Applications

ADOPTION APPLICATION

When you find a dog you are interested in adopting, or if you would like to be pre-approved without a specific Caring Hearts and Paws dog in mind, please complete our Adoption Application Form! We are a non-profit, volunteer run organization, so please expect 2-5 business days for us to get back to you.

Please remember that every dog we rescue has a different background and they will all have different needs. Our dogs have had very stressful starts to life and will need patient, understanding families. As an adopter, it is your responsibly to work with your new pet to help him/her settle in and excel in their new life. It is important to have realistic expectations when bringing a rescue dog into your home. Your new pup will likely need basic obedience training and some time to feel comfortable enough to come out of their shell. All dogs are different, some may require more time than others to get used to their new home.

Like any dog, a rescue will require a lot of love, patience and structure! If you are not committed to working with your dog through all of the possible challenges that may arise with a rescue dog, please wait to apply for until you are prepared.

Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our wonderful dogs! We look forward to working with you!

FOSTER APPLICATION

A lot of time and energy goes into saving the dogs that come into our rescue, and we would love to have you join our team!

We are a non-profit, volunteer run organization, so please expect up to 10 days to hear from us. If you haven’t heard from us after a week, please reach out.

Thank you so much for applying to foster for Caring Hearts and Paws Rescue Inc.! We look forward to getting to know you!

What Is Fostering?

Fostering is a very rewarding experience! When you become a foster for Caring Hearts and Paws Rescue Inc., you are agreeing to take one or more of our rescue dogs into your home. As a foster, the day to day care of our rescue is your responsibility. We ask that you give him or her the same love, care and attention you would your own pets. Please know that fostering can last a set amount of time or until the dog is adopted. Having a safe place to go is the difference between life and death for most of our dogs. There are so many reasons a dog might need a foster placement. Some of the most common include:

  • Our rescue does not have a physical shelter so we depend on our foster homes to care for our dogs until forever homes are found.
  • A dog is recovering from surgery, illness or injury and needs a safe place to heal.
  • A dog has never lived in a home before or has had little to no contact with humans and needs to be socialized.
  • A home has been found but paperwork is still in process.

Does Fostering Cost Anything?

Fostering is free! All of our dogs come with the necessary vaccines and vetting. You will likely be asked to drive your foster to appointments and/or pick ups and drop offs, etc.
